LPS托管为法院认定因精神疾病而“严重残疾”的人和/或个人的遗产提供托管. 建立监护制度是为了允许非自愿治疗，以消除或减少严重残疾，使其达到接受第三方援助的程度.

• Assure needed treatment is provided
• 保护人员和/或个人财产
• Act on behalf of the individual

• Monitor treatment plans
